On April 11-15th, 2011 CANARI held a 5 day training workshop in Jamaica, to train twenty-four forest managers in facilitation of participatory processes for management of forests, as part of a regional project funded by the FAO entitled "Building capacity for participatory forest management for good governance in the Caribbean region". On April 1st, 2011, CANARI, in its role as the Regional Implementation Team (RIT) for the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) in the Caribbean Islands Biodiversity Hotspot, launched the call for proposals for the Dominican Republic.
